Today is the day peeps!!
I’m a little excited for the start of season 2 of the Last Kingdom!!
Now for those of you that have been living under a rock, the Last Kingdom was first shown on BBC America and BBC 2 in October 2015, however I discovered it slighlty later- during the Paralympics.
England, 872. A Saxon man, raised by Danes, must choose a side and play his part in the birth of a nation, alongside the man who would become known as King Alfred the Great.

Its a pretty epic story, full of twists and changes, as well as full on battle scenes, and I found myself fully addicted to the series and binge watching my nights in Rio away with Uhtred.
If you haven’t already, you should head over to Netflix or iTunes and watch Season 1 sharpish!
On Monday, I was lucky enough to head to the NBC Universal Studios in London for a private screening of the first episiode of the new series, and I also got a chance to meet the cast and crew.

Quietly sitting in the front row of the theatre, I was excited as the screening was about to start and then…. None other than Rune Temte, who plays Ubba came and plonked hismeslf down next to me and just started chatting away!! To say I was speechless was an understatement.
The episode itself just gives you an idea of where the new season is heading, and to say its going to be bigger and better just wouldn’t do it justice. The production behind this season has reached new levels, and it feels more cinema than TV series.
I won’t give too much away as you’re all in for a treat tonight!
After the screening, there was a reception; where we got to meet the actual cast, and OK I’m a total muppet when it comes to social graces, but there I stood chatting with none other than Uhtred himself, played by the rather handome Alexander Dreymon. Cue- excitied screaming!!

Who knows you may even see him on the boat in the very near future 😉
So I for one am really looking forward to tonight, and tuning in every Thursday at 2100 for the next few weeks to see where this story is headed…
